‘Butterfly bridge’ nearly ready at Dianshan Lake, Shanghai

A bridge spanning the city’s largest lake is near completion in the western Qingpu District suburb. The 1.47-kilometer-long bridge over Dianshan Lake connects the lake’s Shanghai aquatic sports center and the border of Jiangsu Province.

The bridge is longer than the popular Bai Causeway at the West Lake in Hangzhou. The 8-meter-wide bridge will be accessible to pedestrians, cyclists and small sightseeing vehicles, the district.
