Learn a language - be a bridge builder!

A few months back, AMBergh Education, in cooperation with KEFOUND (Knowledge Exchange Foundation), launched a new scholarship for its students of Arabic, Russian and Chinese. “With this scholarship, we wanted to highlight and assist those students who show great prospects to become future bridge-builders in between regions, countries, cultures and religions. We thus called our scholarship “Building Bridges”, states Ann Marie Bergh, the founder and Director of AMBergh Education.

“The selection of the final candidates was very difficult, as we received many excellent applications from all over the world”, explains Ann Marie Bergh. The decision was finally made public on 26 April. Ten students from seven countries – Germany, Holland, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden, UK, and USA – have been awarded scholarships of USD 1000 each, as a contribution to their language studies in an Arabic or Russian-speaking country.

“Thank you very much for creating this scholarship and the opportunities it presents. I feel very happy and honored to receive it”, stated a happy Pavol Kosnac from Slovakia when receiving the good news. Pavol Kosnac will spend three months in Ukraine studying the Russian language. Lena Kainz from Germany, currently studying at Gothenburg’s University in Sweden, exclaimed “These are absolutely incredible news! I am very honored to receive the AMBergh Education scholarship for my language studies in Beirut.

AMBergh Education provides language and culture immersion programmes in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Morocco for the Arabic language; in Russia, Ukraine, and Latvia for Russian; and in China for Mandarin and other Chinese languages. The company is based in Stockholm, Sweden, and has extensive experience of working in the Russian, the Arabic-speaking world, and lately also in China.

“We strongly believe language immersion in the country where the language is spoken, is not only the most efficient language learning but lays the ground for the even more important culture exchange and understanding”, says Ann Marie Bergh. “We are very happy to encourage these very talented and motivated students. They come from a broad spectrum of academic disciplines and work, but with a common goal of building understanding and, in the long run, peace.”
