Individual Courses
Taking an individual course gives you excellent opportunities to steer the pace and content of your lessons. The tutors are very good in adapting lessons to meet the needs of their students. One-to-one tuition guarantees fast progress and focuses on developing those language skills, which are important to you.

Group courses, Modern Standard Arabic
The MSA group courses include 20 lessons per week. You can start any Sunday throught the year. Minimum course duration is two weeks. You can study for a longer period by proceeding from one level to the next. Group courses are small, normally between 3 and 6 students. If a group at your Arabic level would not be available at the time of your arrival, you will be compensated by individual lessons. One lesson equals 50 minutes.

The study books in use include: ‘Alif Baa: Introduction to Arabic letters and sounds’ (Brustad, Al-Batal, Al-Tounsi), ‘Al-Kitaab fii Ta’allum al ‘Arabiyya’ (Brustad, Al-Batal, Al-Tounsi), and ‘Alkitab Al Assasi’. Study books are not included in your course package, but can easily be purchased at local book stores.

Group courses, Egyptian Colloquial Arabic
Egyptian Colloquial Arabic (CA) is the spoken language of Egypt and one of the most widely understood Arabic dialects. CA group courses include 15 lessons per week. You can start any Sunday throught the year. Minimum course duration is two weeks. You can study for a longer period by proceeding from one level to the next.

Groups are small, normally between 3 and 6 students. If a group at your Arabic level would not be available at the time of your arrival, you will be compensated by individual lessons. The aim is to enable you to accomplish everyday tasks in Egyptian Arabic; to exchange opinions and hold real conversations with native speakers.

Study books include Kallimni Arabi (Samia Louis), in addition to extensive study material developed at the Language Institute.

Combined group courses, MSA+CA
Group courses are scheduled so that it is possible for you to study both Colloquial Arabic and Modern Standard Arabic simultaneously. Combined MSA and CA group courses include 30 lessons per week, and start any Sunday. Minimum course duration is two weeks.

Arabic Semester Courses
Semester courses are conducted in small exclusive groups and cater for beginners, intermediate, and advanced students. Semester courses enable students to make substantial progress in both Modern Standard Arabic and Egyptian dialect, as well as getting deeper insights and experiences in the Egyptian culture.

You will study 20 lessons per week; 4 lessons daily, Sunday to Thursday, combined Modern Standard Arabic and Egyptian dialect (one lesson equals 50 minutes).

Two days sight-seeing in Cairo are included in your programme. Experienced English-speaking guides will take you to the most spectacular places, as well as the hidden pearls of Cairo.

Semester courses are available four times a year; January-April (13 weeks, 260 contact hours), April-June (9 weeks, 180 contact hours), June-August (9 weeks, 180 contact hours), September-December (13 weeks, 260 contact hours). For exact dates, please see our price/booking site.
