Getting to Crimea
Air
The nearest airport is Simferopol. A number of international airlines offer flights to Simferopol via for example, Frankfurt, Kiev, Riga and Istanbul.

Train
You can travel to the region by train from cities such as Berlin, Krakow, Prague, Istanbul, Odessa and Kiev. Just bear in mind that Ukrianian trains take their time in comparison with speedier European trains. While the journey might ‘only be’ 800 km from Kiev it will take about 16 hours. Given that Ukrainian trains are comparatively slow we recommend taking the night train that leaves Kiev at 5pm and arrives in Simferopol at about 9am the following day. If you are not in a hurry then the journey is an experience in itself. Each carriage has its own conductor who hands out bedding and serves tea with a slice of lemon during the journey. There is also a restaurant carriage that serves hearty meals. If you do choose to travel by train make sure that you book your tickets well in advance, especially for travel during the summer months as demand is high and they sell out quickly.

Transfer service
Transfer from Simferopol is not included in the price of the course package unless otherwise stated. Travel time to Koreiz is approximately 2 hours from Simferopol.
