Courses, Nizhny Novgorod
The university offers language courses for among others international students who want to pursue a business related career or those keen to deepen their understanding of the Russian culture and mentality. The programmes on offer consist of in-class studies, study visits and excursions both in and around Nizhny Novgorod and the Volga region. The course provides excellent opportunities to practice both oral and written language skills in everyday situations. Experience shows that employing this method leads to good results in a relatively short period of time.
Group courses Classes are conducted in small groups of approximately 5-8 students. Tuition is usually organised 5 days a week, 4 lessons per day. Should a place on a group course at the right level not be available then an individual course package of 15 lessons per week can be organised. Groups consist of students of different nationalities, which gives a real international flavour to the courses. A language lab is used widely within teaching, as are videos, tv and computers. Course participants also have access to the library and reading rooms. The key focus of every course is oral communication whereby special attention is paid to pronunciation, conversation, phonetics, intonation, grammar and an active vocabulary: - Conversation - History and culture - Russia’s social and economic position Individual courses For fast and effective results we recommend individual tuition. All individual courses are tailor-made to suit your individual needs, wishes and abilities. Individual courses with a special focus on the following can for example be arranged: communication, Russian for everyday use – at home and at work, as well as Russian literature. Study and cultural programme As a complement to your studies the University offers an extensive study and cultural programme for course participants, which includes excursions to museums, historical sites, trips in and around Nizhny Novgorod on foot, by bus or boat. Trips to St Petersburg, Moscow, Vladimir, Suzdal and other interesting places are also organised on a regular basis. Read more: Journeys & trips Comments from a student
