I had three excellent host families, who all made great efforts to welcome me, and to help me speak better Russian.
Beste Bar/Restaurant/Nachtklub:
Cafe Kivach, of course, where everyone went. Since I was there studying I went back for a weekend, and found another new cafe too - which everyone says is nice (can't remember what it's called) - unfortunately it was SO popular, we couldn't get in!
Was kann verbessert werden?
There isn't any one particular problem I can think of, that needs improving.... I would just say that in Petrozavodsk they seemed a bit surprised by my being there outside of their normal summer school season (I was the only student for a while), and though that was OK for me, as I already spoke some Russian - for a beginner, it would have been a difficult situation.
